Level II – Jan. 24 – Two styles of Futakabu Shoka

In this lesson, we will create a Shoka Shofutai futakabuike and a Shoka Shimputai futakabu (aka two divided shokas). As Shoka Shimputai uses three materials, we will be working with three materials for the Shoka Shofutai futakabuike as well. The rules for futakabu Shimputai are quite different than Shofutai futakabuike, hence we will use different materials for the Shimputai.

The above designs are from Ikenobo text books and both are Shoka Shofutai Sanshuike futakabuike designs.

Above are two Shoka Shimputai futakabu designs by Sensei Stephanie
